Problem:

Skill swap apps are popular for facilitating skill sharing, but several issues exist in the current market. One major challenge is the limited accessibility for disabled individuals, making participation difficult. Additionally, there is a lack of personalized matching, as generic algorithms fail to connect users with suitable partners. Finally, the shortage of verified expertise leads to trust issues, as users may doubt the skills of their potential partners.

Solution:

Our skill swap app addresses these issues through innovative solutions. We will implement enhanced accessibility features, such as voice commands and screen reader compatibility, to ensure inclusivity for all users. A personalized matching algorithm will consider skills, interests, and availability, providing tailored partner suggestions. Finally, an expert verification system will allow users to validate skills through peer endorsements, fostering trust within the community.

My Role:

As the UX/UI designer, I conducted research through user interviews to identify pain points. From this, I created personas and user stories that guided the design process. I designed wireframes and high-fidelity mockups for mentor’s profile, focusing on accessibility and user-centered principles. To ensure effectiveness, I conducted usability testing sessions, gathering feedback to iterate on the designs and enhance the overall user experience.
